Four Voice Students Take Home Awards at NATS Regional Student Auditions

Four of Dr. Valerie MacPhail’s voice students advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Regional NATS competition after receiving honors at the SC State auditions last month. Instructor of Piano, Sharalynn Hicks, was the accompanist for the Converse voice students competing, including Shannon Ferguson ’19 and Anna Neely ’20. Abigail Parrish ’20 (Nisbet Honors) placed 3rd in her section of College Freshmen Women, advancing her to the Sing-Off round of the competition. Caroline Bosworth ’18 won 1st place in the College Junior Women Musical Theatre category and performed at the Honors Recital.  She also placed 2nd overall in the classical Junior Women category. Caroline is now eligible for the next round of the National Student Auditions. 

The top students selected for the National Student Auditions will be invited to Boulder, Colorado for the finals.
