Take the plunge with the Tarpon Sharks, Converse’s synchronized swim team, this week during their annual spring show March 19-21 at 8 pm in the Montgomery Student Center. Admission is free of charge, and the event is open to the public.
The title of the show is “Good Times Through the Years," and will feature a diverse music background: music from Frank Sinatra, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler, Ray Charles and others.
The show will feature 12 Converse swimmers and 16 students (ranging in ages from 9-15-years-old) from the Lawson Academy of the Arts.
Swimmers are invited to audition for Tarpon Sharks. Rehearsing from fall to spring in Converse’s heated indoor pool, each Tarpon Shark member choreographs pieces to be performed in the annual show. In addition, last year the Tarpon Sharks had 12 members join the USA Synchro Organization, allowing the club to compete with other colleges in the South.
