Converse Tennis Falls to Mars Hill
MARS HILL, NC – Mars Hill’s women’s tennis team defeated Converse College, 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Complex. MHC improved to 7-1 on the season. Converse falls to 2-7 on the season. Lee Cantey and Kelsey Lambdin held a 6-2 lead in their doubles but were unable to finish off the Lions’ Duo of Whitney Stroud and Patty La Rovere and eventually drop the set 9-7.
Cantey was able to redeem herself in the singles portion by defeating Maranda Dellinger 6-4, 6-3 in the #5 singles slot. Cantey’s would win the only point for the All-Stars.
The All-Stars will face another South Atlantic Conference opponent on Friday when Lenoir-Rhyne comes to town. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm at the Weisiger Center tennis courts.
