Dr. Chandra Hopkins Speaks at Women’s Leadership Colloquium
Dr. Chandra Owenby Hopkins, Dean of the Converse College for Women, was invited as the Alumni Association Endowed Speaker at the Women’s Leadership Colloquium at Brenau University.
Hopkins graduated from Brenau University’s Women’s College in 2005, where she majored in Theatre and minored in English. She was actively involved in the Gainesville Theatre Alliance and the Writing Center.
The Women’s Leadership Colloquium is hosted annually by The Women’s College of Brenau University. This year’s theme was an emphasis on gender awareness: Authenticity, Alliance, and Advocacy.
Dr. Hopkins is passionate about her work leading the Converse College for Women, where she advances the personal and professional growth of all students through a focus on leadership, service, and mentorship. She leads the annual Women’s Leadership Speaker Series and the Converse Women’s Leadership Conference.
She is a dedicated advocate for women’s leadership and community partnerships across the upstate region of South Carolina, serving on the Board of Directors of the Spartanburg Philharmonic and Spartanburg Community Schools.
