Elisabeth Marchant Named Publisher of Atlanta Woman
Atlanta Woman magazine has announced the appointment of Converse College alumna Elisabeth L. Marchant as its publisher.
A member of the Converse Class of 1968, Elisabeth was instrumental in launching Atlanta Woman in 2003 and served as its first publisher. She replaces Dabney Hollis who is stepping down after recent health challenges but remaining with the magazine in an advisory role.
“Dabney and I share a vision for what Atlanta Woman should and can be,” said Elisabeth. “I am honored to have the opportunity to rejoin the Atlanta Woman team and continue her efforts. We will continue to make the magazine, the website, the online component and the events the leading source for Atlanta’s female executives. Atlanta Woman will be the voice where women convene in print, in person and online.”
Atlanta Woman offers Atlanta’s only magazine, website and events designed exclusively for professional and civic-minded women in all stages of their corporate or entrepreneurial careers. With an interactive website, ten issues of the magazine and ten signature events per year, Atlanta Woman provides resources designed to educate, shape, inform and showcase the best of women in Atlanta.
A passionate supporter of the magazine over the years, Elisabeth is known throughout the region as a top publishing executive with more than a decade of experience as an industry leader. For the past few years she has served as executive director for the corporate and nonprofit division of Multicast Media Networks, which specializes in broadband media.
Elisabeth began her career with Marchant’s Inc., a second-generation, family-owned business specializing in commercial construction. After 20 years in the business, she stepped out on her own to launch b3 Magazine, a national publication about technology and geared toward C-level executives; it also produced 15 executive conferences throughout the United States. In 2000, she joined The Leader Publishing Group, where she served as publisher of Business to Business, launched Atlanta Woman and eventually was named president and CEO of the company.
Elisabeth has received numerous community honors, including the YMCA’s Academy of Women Achievers, the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top 10 Women in Business and is a member of the 2004 class of Leadership Atlanta. She is also deeply involved throughout the Atlanta community, having served on boards for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Henry W. Grady Hospital Foundation, and on many others.
