Theatre Major Spends Summer in Ghana for Service-Learning
Brittany Long ’22 (Nisbet Honors) is spending her summer in Ghana!
Brittany is traveling with the nonprofit organization 3GC, and this trip is her first time outside of the United States.
The opportunity has allowed her to visit monuments, explore the Ghanaian cultures, and attend panels discussing business, economics, public health, and education in Ghana.
Brittany participated in service-learning events at a local elementary school, where she assisted with a workshop on storytelling and artistic expression through portraits.
This past spring, Brittany presented her work at the regional showcase hosted by CenterStage Theatre. She was awarded the top prize as the Overall Winner in the Collegiate Division. Brittany said, “I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the confidence this event gave me in my choice to pursue stage design. I thank everyone who has supported, especially the family I have made at Theatre Converse.”
