Dr. Mirko M. Hall presented his paper, “Tupac Shakur: Black Prince of the (Communist) Revolution?” at the annual Hip Hop Studies Conference at Allen University in April. He explored the democratic socialist impulses of the legendary rapper, who—as the son of Black Panthers—was affiliated with the Young Communist League in Baltimore.
Over the past semester, Dr. Hall reviewed several faculty and graduate student conference submissions for the Critical/Cultural Studies Division of the National Communication Association and a number of university-level grant proposals for the Capacity Building Program for US Study Abroad at the Department of State.
