Music Therapy Students and Faculty Attend National Conference in Dallas
Dr. Shultis and Dr. Swanson joined Music Therapy students Abigail Parrish ’20, Katie Long ’20, Abigail Rutherford ’19, Lauren Ruopoli ’19, Daisy Myers ’20, Hembree Poindexter ’20 and Katherine Bobbett ’19 at the National American Music Therapy Association Conference in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Shultis and colleague Karen Jasko taught a continuing education workshop, “Songwriting: Enhancing Quality of Life for Older Adults in Long Term Care.” Co-chair of the American Music Therapy Association Ethics Board, Dr. Shultis spent much of the conference working with other members of the board on a new code of ethics.
Lauren Ruopoli ’19 presented “Pictures, Songs and Voices: A Total Communication Approach with Speech and Music Therapy” with her internship director Minda Gordon.
