Rising Senior Serves Second Year as MedEx Student Ambassador
For the past two summers aspiring nurse anesthetist, Addie Ledbetter ’17, has participated in the GHS Medical Experience (MedEx) Academy internship.
This unique program supports high school seniors and college undergraduates who are pursuing careers in health care. MedEx Academy students participate in progressive learning experiences to introduce the foundations needed for a successful career in various health professions.
Activities include preparatory skills and aptitudes analysis, in-field clinical and non-clinical observations, research-related learning experiences, as well as pedagogy encompassing the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) competencies. A two-time graduate from this program, Addie now serves as a MedEx Student Ambassador and will host informational sessions over the course of the year for those interested in applying for this program next summer.
