From the Converse Technology Department to ESPN: Emily Brown ’11
Major: Global Technology and Business Accounting (combining international business, computer science & accounting)
“The Individualized Major allows me to take all the subjects I have a passion for and combine them to create a greater opportunity for me in the future. I am able to see the global and technical side of business and see what path is right for me in the future as I consider grad schools and careers.”
While at Converse, Emily worked as an apprentice in the Campus Technologydepartment and completed an engineering internship with a local news station. She began working for ESPN the very Monday following graduation. Emily’s role in electronics systems and support requires her to oversee every aspect of ESPN productions, including live broadcasts. Emily’s team is often referred to as “firefighters” due to their quick ability to put out ‘technological fires’.
In addition to working full-time, Emily recently completed her Master’s in Information Technology with a concentration in database design at Nova Southeastern University. She plans to apply for a doctoral program in Information Assurance.
