#2 Limestone Advances to CVAC Finals
Spartanburg, SC — The second seeded Limestone College Saints defeated 3rd seed Converse College 3-1 (19-30, 30-23, 30-21, 30-26) to advance to the CVAC Tournament final. The Saints will face the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College. With the loss, Converse finishes with a record of 22-11.
Converse’s Michelle Sloan was named to the 2006 CVAC All-Tournament Team.
Limestone was led by Amber Wise with 12 kills. Melissa Thomas and Ashley Hubbard added 10 and 9 kills respectively. Alison Hamilton led the way with 33 assists and Lynn Milam added 5. Hamilton also led the team with 35 digs. Julie Oleson had 28 digs in the match. Thomas and Hubbard led the way for Limestone in blocking with 4 and 3 blocks respectively. Courtney Taotoai had 2 aces for the Saints.
Monica Wallace led the team in kills with 14. Wallace sister, Melanie had 12 and Michelle Sloan added 9 kills. Brittney Ogez dished out 37 assists. Sloan, Melanie Wallace, and Marissa Coleman all had more than 20 digs. Sloan had 27 while Melanie added 23 and Coleman had 22 digs. Lauren Mueller picked up 3 blocks in the match. Melanie Wallace led the team with 3 aces. Brittney Ogez added 2.
