All-Stars Fall to Columbia College
The Converse All-Stars were defeated today by Columbia College, 7-2.
The All-Stars number one player, Tina Rohner, was not present at the match due to being in Washington, DC with Model League. Ive Jardim moved up to the number one spot and was defeated by Jennifer Troutman 6-2, 6-3. Danielle Beck moved up to play number two singles and was defeated by Kaylon Haack 4-6, 7-5, 12-10. Jenny Kile was uped to number three and lost in a third set tie-breaker to Elizabeth Barrett 6-7 (7-4), 6-4, 11-9. Andrea Weatherman played at number four and was defeated by Jamie Randolph 4-6, 6-3, 10-5. Virginia Jones was the All-Stars sole winner in singles at number five, beating Rachel Skinner 6-0, 6-1. The All-Stars had to forfeit the number six singles position to Wonn Dadds.
In doubles action, Ive Jardim and Jenny Kile filled the number one position for a win over Troutman/Haack 8-1. Andrea Weatherman and Virginia Jones lost a very close doubles match at the number two position to Barrett/Randolph 8-6. The All-Stars had to forfeit the number three doubles position to Skinner/Dadds.
The All-Stars, now 6-7 on the season, will host Limestone College on Thursday at 3:30pm in their final match of the season.
