Bobcat’s Too Tough for All Stars
The Lees-McRae Women’s soccer team shutout the visiting Converse College All Stars by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday September 8th.
In the first half, the All Stars out shot the Bobcats by 6 shots to 2. However, Lees-McRae was able to convert on both shots. The Bobcats’ Heather Klauss scored the first goal while Heather LaFlamme scored the second on a assist by Amanda Caron. The second goal was scored from a set play off of a Converse penalty. That would wrap up scoring for the first half.
In the second half, the All Stars outshot the Bobcats again by 10 shots to 5 but just couldn’t score. Lees-McRae score twice more with the first goal coming in the fourth minute of play by Bobcat Samantha Sturt. The final goal of the game was scored by Megan Bofenkamp from 40 yards out. The All Stars game for this Saturday at Belmont Abbey was cancelled but they will be back in action on September 14th at home against Brenau College at 5pm.
