Boyd and Cowart Graduate With Honors

Katie Boyd, a math major, from Chesnee, South Carolina and Shawna Cowart an elementary education major from Spartanburg, South Carolina graduated from Converse College on Saturday, May 22nd with the honor of cum laude. This distinction is awarded to those students who have achieved a 3.5 but less than a 3.75 average upon graduation.

Katie was a four year volleyball player. She also served as co-captain of the volleyball team her senior year. Shawna was a three year soccer player and while playing this year she served as chair of the Converse College Honor Board. Katie will continue her studies by striving toward her Masters at Converse College and she will serve as Assistant Volleyball Coach next year. Shawna will begin her career as a Spanish Teacher at Jesse Bobo Elementary school in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
