All-Stars Drop Season Opener
The All-Stars shot 19% on the game, while the Flying Fleet shot 41.9%. Coach Coil states that, “We could not throw the ball into the ocean today, however Erskine could not miss.” Defensively the All-Stars held Erskine to 62 points. From a defensive standpoint we played well. “It takes awhile for a young team to come together both offensively and defensively. If one person misses their assignment defensively then the whole defense can break down. Offensively we need better timing and spacing but this will come with time. The one good thing is that we will continue to get better from here. This has given the team a starting point to build on.”
Leading the scoring for the All-Stars was Melissa Ballard (Saluda, NC) with 14 points. Leading the scoring for the Flying Fleet was Anita Owens with 21 points.
The All-Stars take on Queens College in Charlotte on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:00PM. The All-Stars return home on November 29 to take on Anderson College.
