2009-2010 Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series
The Friends of the Petrie School of Music announce the 2009-2010 season of the Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series.
It will be a season of treasures and delights, beginning on September 21 with the first visit to Converse by the brilliant young Vega String Quartet, joined by guest artist pianist William Ransom. On October 26 virtuoso violinist Vadim Gluzman returns to Spartanburg to play a recital with his wife, the internationally acclaimed pianist and recording artist Angela Yoffe. Then, on February 15, an extraordinary experience awaits as we welcome the Washington National Cathedral Singers. Finally, we¹ll continue our new tradition of adding a Bonus Concert to the series: on April 5 the remarkable Bruce Murray will offer a program of great masterpieces from the solo piano repertoire, including Beethoven’s "Moonlight" Sonata.

In 1983, a group of devoted faculty, administrators and community supporters gathered to form the Friends of the School of Music at Converse College.
Over the years the Friends have presented such eminent performers as Yo-Yo Ma, Charles Wadsworth, Chanticleer, the Tokyo String Quartet, the Beaux Arts Trio, and many others. In 2004 the Friends of the Petrie School of Music renamed the concert series the Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series.
