Let the Games Begin
SPARTANBURG, S.C.– On September 18 Converse College formally dedicated the Sally Abney Rose Physical Activity Complex and the Weisiger Center.
With 16 developed acres, the Sally Abney Rose Physical Activity Complex is a stunning addition to the Converse campus. It is the site for a regulation-sized soccer field, tennis courts, a multipurpose practice field, and the Weisiger Center.
The 29,000 square foot Weisiger Center is a single-story complex housing intercollegiate basketball and volleyball courts, physical fitness training rooms, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, and physical education offices.
The project is made possible by lead gifts from Ed and Agnes Weisiger ’63 of Charlotte, N.C., and the Abney Foundation, in honor of Converse alumna Sally Abney Rose.
