Highlights from Reunion 2022
Even pouring rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of Converse alumni who traveled from all over the United States to join us on campus for our first in-person reunion since the pandemic began.
The campus was a frenzy of activity, as golf carts whisked alumni across campus, and staff made sure all the guests had umbrellas for that rainy first day. The classes of 1970, 1971, and 1972 mingled in the Golden Club’s Hospitality Suite in Fleming Hall while alumni reunited at check-in in Wilson Hall.
As more alumni arrived later in the afternoon, they joined in Gee dining hall for a ‘family style’ meal with classmates, while members of the Golden Club joined President Hopkins for an exclusive dinner at The Piedmont Club.
Guests were invited to the Alumni Recital in Daniel Recital Hall, a low-pressure affair showcasing our alumni’s talents and great music.
Always a crowd favorite, ‘S’mores Before You Snore’ reunited old friends in The Cabin to intimately catch up over warm, roasted marshmallows by the fireplace.
Saturday was a flurry of events, including the Alumni Association Board Meeting, the Parade of Classes, the Alumni Award Ceremony, the Alumni Art Exhibition & Milliken Tour and the All-Class BBQ & Dance Party on the Quad.
Photo highlights from Reunion 2022 weekend:
Saturday afternoon, alumni lined up for the “Tie-Dye Your Tee” event, a new favorite at Converse. Pink Panthers and Red Devils came together and dyed their Converse Reunion 2022 t-shirts with Admissions team staff members outside Mickel Library.
The Parade of Classes brought laughter and tears as classes took their group photos outside of Carmichael Hall, and then paraded into Wilson Hall. They were welcomed by dozens of Converse community members lined up on the sides of the hallway leading into Gee Dining Hall.
The weekend wrapped up with the all-class BBQ and dance party on the Quad. Guests danced like no one was watching and enjoyed mac and cheese, coleslaw, sweet tea, and blueberry cobbler. The class act awards were presented to the Class of 1967 for the largest amount raised and the Class of 1987 for the greatest number of participants.
Looking forward to seeing you again for Reunion 2023!
