Converse Art Education Summer Intensive Holds Graduate Exhibition

Converse University’s MEd in Art Education students united on campus for the annual two-week residency summer session. The online MEd in Art Education at Converse includes four semesters of online coursework and one summer residency on our Spartanburg campus. The two-week residency session provides studio skill support and face-to-face collaboration.

Graduate students from around the country met on campus for the 12-day immersive studio experience, as part of our Artist-Researcher-Teacher-Transformer model for Art Education.
During the the Converse Art Education Summer Intensive, students in the low residency program take two graduate courses in the comprehensive and accelerated Summer 2 term. This year, students focused on improving skills in the areas of fine art craft materials in the course ART 535 Studio Material Culture and on improving technology skills in the course ART 524 Digital Media and Graphic Design. The Summer Intensive culminates with a graduate exhibition in Milliken Art Gallery, which is open to the public.
