Art and Design Department hosts SC Art Education Association Conference
The Department of Art and Design hosted the 2019 South Carolina Art Education Association Western Region Conference in January. 
National Art Education Association (NAEA) members in attendance learned new techniques, created personal art, and socialized with other art educators. Converse art faculty presented the following workshops:
- Mary Carlisle – “Ceramics Intensive on a Budget”
- Meirav Goldhour – “Interior Design Watercolor Environments”
- Jena Thomas – “Mixed Media Photo Transfers.”
Lunch and Learn talks were supplied by Nicole De Armendi on the topic of “Beyond Picasso – Let’s Talk Art” and Susanne Floyd Gunter on the topic of “Sketchbooks and Beyond: Make Read 2 Succeed Work for You.”
