Professor Elliott Named South Carolina Outstanding Art Educator
Converse Art Education professor and alumna, Andrea Ezell Elliott ’03 was named South Carolina Outstanding Art Educator for higher education by the South Carolina Art Education Association (SCAEA) at their fall conference. Award recipients are recognized for their excellence in supporting art education in South Carolina and increasing public awareness of the importance of art education.
I aim to contribute to the field in a positive way so that I can continue the cyclical nature of strong mentorships
Professor Elliott said, “This award is the embodiment of strong mentorships within my life that have helped to shape me into the art educator that I am today. I am thankful for the many people in my life that have always recognized my potential and encouraged me to pursue my goals as I continue to advocate for art educators everywhere. I am truly fortunate in that I have had the privilege to work with so many amazing art educators throughout my life, and I aim to contribute to the field in a positive way so that I can continue the cyclical nature of strong mentorships and uphold the significant foundation in art education that those mentors have bestowed upon me.”
