Dr. Elder Selected as History Correspondent for Muster Blog
Dr. Angela Elder accepted a position as the gender/women’s history correspondent for the Muster blog, Muster: How the Past Informs the Present. Dr. Elder’s piece, “The Story Continues: Women and the American Civil War” was published on the blog in July.
Over the summer Dr. Elder spent time at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, completing research on a Guion Griffis Johnson grant, which supports research on women in the American South. She served as a chair/comment for a panel entitled, “Gender, Behavior, and Family in the Mid-19th Century” at the South Carolina Historical Association Conference in Columbia, South Carolina. At the Organization of American Historians conference in Sacramento, California, Dr. Elder presented on a panel discussing teaching and the American Yawp.
