Student-Faculty Research published in SC Academy of Science Journal
Working under Dr. Edna Steele and Dr. Jeff Brotherton’s guidance and mentorship, Nisbet Honors students Caitlin Lazurick ‘19, Nicole Lidzbarski ‘19, and Rachel Owings ‘19, had their submission “Investigating the Toxicity and Accumulation of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid (2,4-D) and Glyphosate in Eisenia fetida” (MS #1143) published in the Journal of the South Carolina Academy of Science.
The research was funded largely by a grant from SC IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) and partially from a South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU) grant. The students also presented their findings at the SC INBRE Summer Research Symposium at the USC School of Medicine.
