Meagan Moore ’05
Conversation
"I found my voice through Converse."
About the Conversation
Meagan Moore '05 recalls how several Converse professors supported her on her unexpected path to become a teacher. Meagan majored in History and Early Childhood Education at Converse and went on to get her Master's in Education from Converse in 2007. Today she is a first-grade teacher at Holly Springs-Motlow Creek Elementary School in Spartanburg District One where she was honored as teacher of the year for 2014. Every day she acts on her vision—to help young children grow, learn, and believe in themselves.
Meagan's mother, Margaret, has been a professor of Physical Education at Converse for over 40 years.

About the Project
In celebration of our 125th anniversary, Converse is recording conversations that capture the unique voice, value and vision of our College community. The project launched during Reunion Weekend 2014, with a team of student digital journalists interviewing alumni, students, faculty and staff. The resulting stories span decades of friendships, life experiences and careers. The Conversations project was funded by a gift from President Betsy Fleming in honor of the College's anniversary.
