Mary-Sidney Ritch ’10 & Laura Bingham Ritch ’75

"Mom is always right!"

Mary-Sidney Ritch and her mother, Laura, both Converse alums, reflect on how Mary-Sidney chose Converse. In this classic story of, "Your mother is always right," mom and daughter laugh about their first visit to Converse's campus.

Laura Bingham Ritch graduated from Converse in 1975 with a Humanities degree. She is the Secretary of the Converse College Alumnae Association Board and also Director of the National League of Junior Cotillions. Laura lives in Hartselle, AL and in addition to Mary-Sidney, has another daughter, a son, and four grandchildren.

Mary-Sidney Ritch majored in Marketing at Converse and graduated in 2010. She went on to receive a BS in Marketing Management from the University of Alabama in 2011. Mary-Sidney currently works in Sales and Marketing for Quincy Compressor in Charlotte, NC.

In celebration of our 125th anniversary, Converse is recording conversations that capture the unique voice, value and vision of our College community. The project launched during Reunion Weekend 2014, with a team of student digital journalists interviewing alumni, students, faculty and staff. The resulting stories span decades of friendships, life experiences and careers. The Conversations project was funded by a gift from President Betsy Fleming in honor of the College's anniversary.
