Examining Religious History to Understand the Present: Jamie Bauer ‘07

Jamie Bauer graduated from Converse with a BA in religion. “I was definitely pushed and always encouraged to think for myself in the Converse Religion and Philosophy Department,” said Bauer. “And because most classes were discussion-based, I could always form and share my opinions on whatever it was that we were going to be talking about. My professors helped me to gain a new appreciation and understanding of other religions; they critiqued my writing so that I could produce more concise, academic papers; and rounded my religious studies by forcing me to look into the history and the culture that surrounds religion in the past and present.”

Bauer is a children/youth director at Kingston Presbyterian Church in Conway, SC.
