Converse Offers Inside View of New MFA in Creative Writing
You don’t have to be enrolled in Converse’s new low-residency MFA in creative writing (the first program of its kind in South Carolina) to take advantage of a number of its offerings. The inaugural-year summer residency begins May 28, and Converse is opening its series of craft lectures and genre seminars to the public free of charge.
The readings and lectures present an exciting opportunity for budding or accomplished writers to interact with nationally and internationally acclaimed writers specializing in the genres of poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
The MFA in Creative Writing brings together serious, independent writers for advanced instruction in fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction. The low-residency program emphasizes master-writer and apprentice mentoring relationships, drawing students and an award-winning faculty of writers from across the country for bi-annual residencies on the Converse campus.
