Music Petting Zoo at Converse
A music petting zoo will be held in Blackman Music Hall on the campus of Converse College Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.. There is no admission charge, and children from throughout the area are invited to attend.
The event, which is organized annually by the Converse chapter of Delta Omicron, is often an unforgettable hands-on experience for children as they discover the thrill of playing an instrument. For many children, it is the first opportunity they have to pick up an instrument and make a noise with it. As with previous petting zoos, Converse will have a large sampling of different types of instruments including percussion, strings, woodwinds and brass.
In addition to being able to sample the instruments, petting zoo participants will be treated to a musical version of the popular book “The Remarkable Farkle McBride.”
