Converse to Showcase Works by Alumnae in Art Exhibit

A collection of works by Converse College alumnae will be exhibited in the College’s Milliken Art Gallery April 11–May 1. The exhibit will feature a diverse collection of disciplines, including a variety of painting styles, as well as two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

The works will range in a variety of media such as oils, watercolors, ceramics, sculptures, photography, and printmaking. Subject matter will also vary. For example, Genie Marshall Wilder ’56 will present colorful, detailed still-lifes; prints by Sylvia Taylor ’93 are based on her experiences as a mid-wife; and an artist book and audio CD by Elizabeth Lide ’69 speaks of her Irish heritage.
