Converse Adds Two More to Freshman Class
Spartanburg, S.C.— Coach Brett Phillips announced the signing of two more freshmen for the 2007-08 campaign. Joining the other eight freshmen is 5’11” Morgan Sacharski from Arrowhead High school located in Hartland, Wisconsin. The other signee is sharp shooting 5’ 8” Jerrica Lane from Newport, Tennessee. Lane attended Cocke County high school where she and early signee 6’3” Nikki Bryant were teammates.
“I am very excited about finding two quality young women and players at this stage of the game. I truly feel that both of these young ladies, with their work ethic and basketball I Q’s, are going to fit in well with the rest of our team,” explains Coach Phillips. “It is always good to have a shooter like Jerrica in the mix and Morgan is athletic and plays all five positions on the floor. Both of them will enhance our program and help keep us heading in the winning direction. I am ready for August to get here and I can’t wait to get started,” adds Phillips.
This rounds out the freshman class of ten which is the largest freshman class in the history of the program. “We have a great mix of athleticism, shooters, enthusiasm and kids who know how to win. The everyday competition in practice is going to be fun to be around. There will always be someone pushing their teammates to get better and we are hoping that is going to translate into some very exciting games for our student body and the entire Converse community,” says Coach Phillips.
