Get connected to Converse! Let us help you discover ways to engage with our students as well as promote your organization. The Center for Career Development offers employers and graduate and professional school recruiters the following recruiting opportunities.
Employers can advertise an internship or job opportunity on Handshake, our online career platform. These opportunities are seen directly by the students. Employers can also view student profiles to search for candidates. Learn more about posting jobs and internships on Handshake.
The Converse College Center for Career Development adheres to the NACE Principles for Professional Practice for Career Services and Employment Professionals and expects employers to do the same. These principles are available on the National Association of Colleges and Employers website.
Our Internship Program encourages students to explore their educational and professional goals in a real world setting. Students create learning objectives that align with these goals and work together with their internship site supervisor to produce the best possible experience.
Students successfully complete credit-bearing internships in business, arts, health care, law, non-profits, the sciences and many other areas. Internships can be offered during the fall, winter, spring or summer.
Give a presentation about your company or organization and promote current employment opportunities. An employer information session is a great opportunity for you to get in front of a targeted group of students. These sessions can take place in the classroom or in a private meeting room on campus. Students have the opportunity to ask representatives questions regarding their specific company/organization.
Interested in interviewing students for current or future job and internship opportunities? The Center for Career Development is happy to organize on-campus recruiting opportunities for employers wishing to interview students for a job or internship. The employer can choose to collect the student resumes through Handshake, our online career platform, or they can be collected by a member of the Center. Once the resumes are reviewed, the interview schedule can be completed by the employer or a member of the Center.
Converse College is a member of the College Town Consortium, which consists of seven colleges and universities with a collective enrollment of nearly 15,000 students.
College Town Career Fair
On Tuesday, February 25, 2020 CollegeTown will host their yearly “Careers After Class” career fair from 2-4pm. At Careers After Class, we bring together Spartanburg’s college students and employers to network and connect.
This isn’t your traditional career fair – there are no stuffy six-foot tables. The event features a casual networking environment, live pitches from employers seeking talent, and yummy refreshments.
Our Graduate/Professional School Fair is attended by students in a variety of majors. Students as early as freshman attend to gather application requirement and program information. More than 30% of our seniors attend graduate or professional school directly after graduation.

The Summer Camp/Job Fair brings together employers and summer camps that are looking to hire Converse students for summer employment. This is a great opportunity for your company to advertise your job openings and recruit Converse students.
