Cross Country Posts Program Best Finishes at NCAA Regionals
The Converse Cross Country team competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Oakwood, GA, on Saturday, November 4, 2023. The men’s team finished 14th, and the women’s team finished 6th. These are the best team finishes in Converse history.
Following the competition, Head Coach Mark Rennix said, “Both programs ran with a lot of heart, and it was awesome to see them come away with their best team finish in school history. Each year, we aim to be better than the last. This season was a huge stepping stone for the future of Converse Cross Country.”

The first runner to cross the finish line for Converse was Ruth Spijker, followed by Lauren Beatty, Ashley Sosa, Kamille Dixon, Froukje Mons, Bayley Robinson and Anne van den Broek.
The first runner to cross the finish line for the men’s team was Luis Rios Brena, who finished 32nd overall, the best individual finish in school history. Following Rios Brena were Alex Sosa, Alain Flores, Jaxon Wright, DreQuan Guyton, Spenser Kirby and Nathan Lucy.
