Converse Volleyball Signs Five for Next Season
Spartanburg, S.C.— Converse College Volleyball Coach Ginny Alexander announced today the signing of five new players for the 2007 season. Joining the Converse Volleyball program will be Keli Alber (Greenville, SC), Katherine Buehler (Mooresville, NC), Emily Hall (Mauldin, SC), Ashley Jones (Asheville, NC) and Susannah White (Fountain Inn, SC).
Alber captained her St. Joseph’s Catholic High School team and received All-Conference honors as a setter.
Buehler is from the Cannon School where she captained her team to a MAC Conference Championship and 2nd in the State while receiving All Conference IIA Private and All State IIA Private honors.
Both Alber and Buehler have earned a Converse College Presidential Scholarship for their academic achievements in addition to a volleyball scholarship.
Hall is an outside hitter from J.L. Mann Academy where she garnered All-Region and All-Star honors in 2006.
Jones is a dual sport athlete and played for Coach Alexander in 2006 at Asheville High School as a middle blocker where she received All-Conference honors in volleyball. Jones has committed to play both volleyball and basketball at Converse College.
White is an outside hitter who played at Hillcrest High School where she was the co-captain and garnered All-Region and All-Star honors in 2006.
“We are in the process of taking Converse Volleyball to the next level and all five of these student-athletes are overachievers and will make an instant impact in improving the program. I am excited to have the opportunity to sign a great group of players from this area and the region”, says Alexander.
