Spartanburg, SC — The 5th seeded Anderson University Trojans swept the #4 seed Coker College Cobras in three games (30-27, 30-19, 30-22). With the win, the Trojans advance to the semi-finals of the 2006 CVAC Volleyball Tournament. They will face the winner of the Lees-McRae/Pfeiffer match. Coker finishes the season at 15-15.
Amanda Edwards who recorded 13 kills in the match led Anderson offensively. Leanna Willis added 11 kills while Beth Lawson had 9 kills. Willis led the Trojan defense with 22 digs. Jennifer Moffitt also had 15 digs while Edwards added 10 to the effort. Jessica Pedrick dished out 42 assists and had 3 service aces. Edwards and Heather Swain each had 2 blocks.
Coker’s offense was led by Margaret Madison with 16 kills. Megan Haupt recorded 7 kills in the match. Tara Nelson had 32 assists. Madison also led the team in blocks with 5. Lauren Larsen contributed with 4 blocks.
