Converse’s Sam Chapman Receive CVAC Recognition
Spartanburg, SC — Converse College soccer player, Sam Chapman, has been named to the CVAC Women’s Soccer ‘Players to Watch’ List. The list highlights players from the twelve conference teams who are anticipated to make a positive impact on the upcoming season. The Spartanburg native, who graduated from Dorman High School in 2004, led last season’s All-Star squad in goals scored and points scored.
Chapman scored seven goals and added two assists last year. She scored two goals in Converse’s 3-2 double overtime win over Queens College. She was the only player to record a multiple goal game last season.
Chapman will be instrumental in leading this year’s young team. The All-Stars will kick off the 2006 season tomorrow at 1:00 pm. They will host cross town rival Spartanburg Methodist College. This will be the season opener for both institutions. Converse will open CVAC play on Thursday, October 31st when they host St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
