Converse Volleyball Invitational Attracts Teams from Five Conferences

Nine women’s volleyball teams will be on the Converse College campus August 25-26 to compete in the Converse Volleyball Invitational. Admission is free and open to the public. All matches will be held in Converse’s Sally Abney Rose Physical Activities Complex.

Teams scheduled to compete are Carolinas Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) members Converse, Belmont Abbey and Pfeiffer University; Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) members Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State and North Carolina Central; Peach Belt Conference member University of South Carolina Upstate; Presbyterian College, a new member of the Big South Conference; and Columbia College, a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Friday’s matches begin at 11 a.m. and conclude with an 8 p.m. match. Matches get underway Saturday at 9 a.m. and conclude with a 6 p.m. match. For detailed schedule information, call the Converse Athletic Office at (864) 577-2050.
