Limestone gets the better of Converse
GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone women’s basketball team convincingly defeated the Converse College All-Stars 75-52 this past Wednesday night.
The Lady Saints got off to a slow start falling behind 7-0 to the All-Stars in the first three minutes. Converse took their biggest lead at 10-2 when Limestone began to take over the momentum with Addie Graves supplying a spark off the bench. Limestone sailed past the All-Stars after tying the game 15-15 with 8 minutes remaining in the half.
The Lady Saints finished the first period with a 12 point advantage 35-23. Limestone continued to work hard and keep control of the game in the second half. Graves finished the night with a game high 18 points, adding 7 rebounds. Melissa DeVore scored in double-digits for the fourth game in a row with 13 points and 6 assists.
The All-Stars were led by Junior Lillian Frazier (Miami, FL) who had an impressive 9 points in one of her biggest offensive games of the year.
Converse dropped to 1-9 on the season and with the break for exams, the All-Stars will return to action this coming Saturday as they travel to Vienna, WV to take on Ohio Valley University @ 2pm.
