Converse falls to powerhouse Presbyterian
CLINTON, SC – Sophomore Brittany Pecora (Myrtle Beach, SC) and redshirt freshman Erin Sinkuler (Roswell, Ga.) combined on a shutout to lead Presbyterian College to a 7-0 victory over Converse College in women’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Martin Stadium.
With the win, PC moves to 5-6-1 on the season, while Converse falls to 3-12-1.
The Lady Blue Hose had six players score goals on the afternoon, led by junior Claire Joyce’s (Aiken, SC) two goals. Senior Megan Smith (Greenville, SC) and junior Ginny Wolfe (Lexington, SC) both finished with one goal and two assists. Senior Kristin Ryer (Lilburn, Ga.) scored her first career goal in the 83rd minute for PC.
PC held a commanding lead in shots with 44, while Converse had only three.
Brandy Criscitiello (Maysville, NC) had 15 saves for the All-Stars, while Pecora and Sinkuler both finished with one each.
PC will be back in action Saturday evening as they travel to Catawba College for a 7 pm match.
Converse returns to action Monday as they face CVAC team Queens at 4pm
