Spartanburg, SC – The Pfeiffer Falcons opened their CVAC season with a 6-0 victory over Converse College with two goals each from Laura Crews and Michelle Vaudrieul.
Pfeiffer’s star forward Laura Crews was kept at bay by Converse for the first 15 minutes but it was Michelle Vaudrieul who would make the All-Stars pay for sloppy defending with the first goal of the game after only 5 minutes. The All-Stars battled back and went close on several occasions but it would be Crews who would score the second with a brilliant first-time volley after 15 minutes and effectively seal the fate of Converse.
Converse would keep the score at 3-0 until half time due to some great play from Brandi Criscitiello (Maysville, NC) who finished the game with 15 saves but Pfeiffer would add three more goals in the second half to cement their place as one of the top teams in the CVAC Conference.
Converse returns to action Saturday as they face non-conference North Greenville at 10am on the campus of North Greenville College.
