All-Stars Volleyball dominate another CVAC opponent
Wilson, NC – The visiting Converse College women’s volleyball team defeated Barton in four games Friday night in Wilson Gymnasium.
The 30-28, 30-19, 27-30, 30-20 win improved Converse to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference while Barton fell to 3-12 overall and 2-3 in the league. Barton is home Saturday afternoon at 3 against Limestone.
Converse rode 10 kills from Sarah Javdan-Inalloo and eight apiece from Lauren Mueller and Leslie Shain. Mueller added five blocks and Michelle Sloan tallied three. Brittany Ogez totaled 31 assists. Amy Fierova and Shain contributed 24 and 20 digs apiece while Shain put down five aces.
Setter Kari Poling piled up 34 assists for Barton. Michelle Walker amassed 16 kills, 10 digs and four blocks while Keauna Vinson notched 15 kills, six digs and five blocks. Laurie Alpert tallied 25 digs and four aces.
Converse returns to action Saturday as they play perennial CVAC power Mount Olive at 1pm in Mount Olive, NC.
