Converse falls to Lees McRae in double overtime
Historic first CVAC game for Converse ends in sudden death overtime 1-0 loss
Spartanburg, SC – The Converse All-Stars dropped a heartbreaking game 1-0 to Lees McRae with the only goal coming at the 104:10 mark in double overtime from Lees McRae’s Nancy Pinkston.
Only a minute earlier, Converse’s Paige Kohler (Seneca, SC) hit the crossbar with a direct free-kick from just outside the box with a well hit shot that would have ended the game if it had gone in. Converse was led in goal by Brandi Criscitiello with 12 saves in her first career game and almost tipped the winning shot over from close range.
Converse falls to 0-1-0 and will be back in action this Sunday August 29th against Mt. Olive at 1pm on the campus of Converse College.
