Presbyterian College Blanks Converse, 4-0
Converse just couldn’t stop PC on Thursday.
PC’s Megan Smith (Greenville, S.C.) had two goals and an assist to lift Presbyterian College to a 4-0 victory over Converse College in women’s soccer action on Thursday afternoon.
Lindsay Leffler got PC on the board in the 10th minute when she took a corner kick from Amanda Rossie and knocked it past the Converse goalie Katie Heos for the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Smith quickly made it 2-0 with a goal in the 50th minute. Claire Joyce had the assist.
Just ten minutes later, Joyce found Smith again to give PC the 3-0 lead.
Lauren Letien rounded out the scoring for PC with her first collegiate goal in the 67th minute on an assist from Smith.
Converse had 5 shots on goal but just wasn’t able to convert. Keeper Katie Heos had 10 saves.
Converse will be back in action on Saturday with an away make-up game.
