All Stars Tennis Gets Win Against Columbia College 7-2
The All Stars looked good in their win against Columbia College on Saturday. Leading off in doubles, Tina Rohner paired up with freshman Ive Jardim, and although nervous at first, the two pulled out an 8-4 win. In number 2 doubles, Senior Danielle Beck paired with freshman Jenny Kile, and despite a tough effort, fell 4-8. In number 3 doubles, seniors Merry Poore and Andrea Weatherman battled for an 8-4 victory.
SINGLES ACTION
Playing number one, Tina Rohner beat Jennifer Troutman 7-5, 6-2.
Playing number two, Ive Jardim beat Kaylon Haack 6-0, 6-2.
Playing number three, Danielle Beck fell in a third set tie breaker to Elizabeth Barrett 5-7, 6-1, (10-7).
At number four, freshman Jenny Kile knocked out Jamie Randolph 6-3, 6-4.
Andrea Weatherman, playing number five, pulled out a very close match in tie breakers, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-4).
Playing number six, Virginia Jones beat Rachel Skinner 6-4, 6-2.
The All Stars will be back in action on Wednesday October 6th when they travel to Charlotte to take on Queens College.
