All Stars Soccer Gets First Season Win
The Lady All Stars received their first win of the season at home beating Brenau College 6-1 on Tuesday.
In the first half of play, Rachel Sherman scored off of an assist by Paige Kohler in the 17th minute of play. Converse’s second goal came in the 28th minute when Sarah Updegrave scored off of another assist by Paige Kohler. Sarah Updegrave scored again in the 42nd minute of play off of an assist by Ashley Carry. Brenau’s Valerie Coffee scored their only goal for the half off of an assist by Rachel Arms but Converse led 3-1 at the half.
Converse was hot again in the second half, scoring three more goals. In the 4th minute of play, Rachel Sherman scored for the second time of the day off of an assist by Sam Chapman. In the 23rd minute, Sarah Updegrave scored her third goal of the day for Converse. With just over 4 minutes to play, Sam Chapman scored the final goal for Converse off of an assist by Ashley Carry.
The lady All Stars had an all around team effort in this exciting win. Sarah Updegrave scored three goals, Rachel Sherman scored 2 goals, and Sam Chapman scored one goal. Assists were made by Sarah Shiff, Ashley Carry, Sam Chapman, Paige Kohler and Tracy Archehold. Goalkeeper Katie Heos had 3 saves and allowed only one goal to Brenau.
The All Stars’ game for this Thursday against North Greenville has been cancelled due to inclement weather. They will play again on September 29th at Coker College
