Athletic Department GPA
The Athletic Department is very proud of its athletes this 2004-2005 school year. Their cumulative GPA was a 3.127. The tennis team had the highest cumulative GPA with a 3.324. Right behind them was the volleyball team who had a 3.309. The cross-country team had a 3.214, the soccer team had a 3.014 and the basketball team had a 2.932.
The All-Stars always compile a “Top Ten” GPA for the athletic department. With no surprise, Tina Rohner finished the school year with right below a 4.0 while majoring in Politics and International Business. Tina is a freshman tennis player. Megan Pearce a sophomore majoring in psychology was close behind while running cross-country. The third and fourth spots were occupied by volleyball players. At the third spot was Hannah Roach a junior majoring in business administration and marketing. The fourth spot was her teammate Amy Fierova. Amy is a sophomore majoring in music. These next two spots were juniors playing basketball and tennis. Melissa Ballard, a junior basketball player majoring in math and accounting. Andrea Weatherman who is a junior playing tennis, is majoring in music. The number eight spot was occupied by a dual athlete playing basketball and volleyball. Lauren Mueller a freshman is majoring in Pre-Medicine. Shawna Cowart played soccer for three years and graduated cum laude majoring in elementary education. The ninth spot was occupied by Carolyn Ashdown who was a freshman basketball player, majoring in secondary education. The last athlete rounding out the “Top Ten” is Katie Boyd who also graduated cum laude. She was co-captain of the volleyball team and graduated with a degree in Math and Secondary Education.
