Athletic Department Award's Banquet
On Saturday May 1st, the Athletic Department celebrated their sixth annual awards banquet. The five sports including basketball, cross-country, soccer, tennis and also cheerleading were all recognized for their hard work. Each team except cheerleading gave an award for Most Valuable Player, Most Improved and the Coach’s Award.
Coach Brooks, Head volleyball coach indicated that after a very successful year she had three players who should receive awards at the banquet this year. The Coach’s Award was given to an athlete who demonstrates the qualities that all members of the team should aspire to. This young lady always had a smile on her face. If you were feeling down you could see her and just looking at her would cheer you up. She received this award for hard work, mental toughness and an overall great positive attitude. This award was given to Sarah Javdan-Inalloo.
The Most Valuable Player was also probably the Most Valuable Player in the athletic department. This young lady dominated on the volleyball court. She had a tremendous impact on the team’s success. She was a great leader and she never stopped working hard. This award went to Tia Felder.
The last award was given to the Most Improved player. This freshman handled pressure very well, never complained and had good confidence. As a freshman starter all three of those things are very hard to accomplish but this young lady did so. This award was given to Brittney Ogez.
