Jones Wins 3rd Set Tie Breaker To Lift Converse Over Coker
The All-Stars are now 5-7 after defeating Coker College 5-4 on Wednesday in Hartsville, South Carolina. The All-Stars can thank the play of the newest All-Star Virginia Jones who was down 4-2 and 40 Love in the third set against Nicole Schaum and came back to win 7-6. With this win, the All-Stars took the lead and the match by winning 5-4.
In doubles action, Converse’s Tina Rohner and Sandra Diaz defeated Lerlani Alantaga and Andrea Santos 8-2.. At number two doubles, Converse’s Danielle Beck and Christine Galop were defeated by Jen Crocker and Neely Davis 8-6. Also in doubles action was Megan Munn and Virginia Jones who was defeated by Jen Kanopa and Ashley Schaum 8-3.
In singles play, Converse’s Tina Rohner defeated Alantaga (6-1, 6-0) at number one singles. At flight two, Converse’s Danielle Beck was defeated in three sets by Crocker (6-3, 3-6, 6-3). In flight three Converse’s Sandra Diaz defeated Santos (6-2, 6-3) while at flight four Converse’s Christine Galop defeated Davis(6-2, 6-1). In flight five Megan Munn was defeated by Konopa in three sets (6-0, 7-6, 7-2), and in the number six spot Virginia Jones won the match-winning game by defeating Nicole Schaum (6-2, 6-7, 7-6).

The All-Stars return home on Saturday, March 20th to take on Lincoln Memorial University at 2:00 PM.
