Diaz Wins Marathon Match, But All-Stars Fall
The All-Stars are now 4-6 for the year after losing to Wingate in Wingate, North Carolina on Thursday 7-2.
In doubles action,Converse’s Tina Rohner and Sandra Diaz were defeated by Alexis McDaniel and Erin Donovan 9-7. At number two doubles, Converse’s Danielle Beck and Andrea Weatherman were defeated by Courtney Luce and Sydney Pallesen 8-0. Also in doubles action Megan Munn and Virginia Jones were defeated by K. Wenstrand and Lauren O’Connell 8-5.
In singles play, Converse’s Tina Rohner was defeated by McDaniel (4-6,6-2,6-3) at number one singles. At flight two, Converse’s Danielle Beck fell to Donovan (6-0, 6-0). In flight three Converse’s Sandra Diaz defeated Courtney Luce in a three hour marathon match (6-3,2-6,10-8).At flight four Converse’s Megan Munn was defeated by Pallesen (6-0, 6-0). In flight five Andrea Weatherman was defeated by Gluckstal (6-4, 6-4), and in the number six spot Virginia Jones came from behind to defeat Sara King (1-6, 6-4, 10-7)
