Converse Loses Close Match to Anderson

The All-Stars are now 7-9 after losing to Anderson College 5-4 on Monday in Anderson, South Carolina.
In doubles action, Converse’s Tina Rohner and Sandra Diaz defeated Katie Sexton and Zan Elvington 8-3. At number two doubles, Converse’s Danielle Beck and Christine Galop were defeated by Kristen Lambert and Shelley Davis 8-6. Also in doubles action was Megan Munn and Andrea Weatherman were defeated by Angie Boyd and Ashley Williamson 8-2.

In singles play, Converse’s Tina Rohner defeated Sexton (7-5, 6-0) at number one singles. At flight two, Converse’s Danielle Beck was defeated by Davis (6-0, 6-2). In flight three Converse’s Sandra Diaz defeated Elvington (6-2, 4-6, 7-6, (10-3)) while at flight four Converse’s Christine Galop defeated Lambert (3-6, 6-3, 6-2). In flight five Megan Munn was defeated by Willimson (6-1, 7-5), and in the number six spot Virginia Jones was defeated by Boyd (2-6, 6-2, 6-2).

Rohner(CC)def. Sexton (AC) 7-5, 6-0. Beck was def. by Davis (AC) (6-0, 6-2). Diaz(CC) def. Elvington (AC) (6-2, 4-6, 7-6, (10-3). Galop (CC) def. Lambert (AC) (3-6, 6-3, 6-2). Munn (CC) was def. by Williamson (AC) (6-1, 7-5). Jones (CC) was def. by Boyd (AC)(2-6, 6-2, 6-2).

Doubles

Rohner and Diaz (CC) def Sexton and Elvington (AC) 8-3. Beck and Galop (CC) were def. by Lambert and Davis (AC) 8-6, and Munn and Weatherman (CC) were def. by Williamson and Boyd (AC) 8-2.

The tennis team will travel to Banner Elk, North Carolina to take on Lees McRae at 3:00PM.
