All-Stars Cannot Hold On In Second Half
Converse College fell to Coker College 68-44 on Saturday afternoon in Weisiger Center in Spartanburg, SC. The teams traded leads several times in the first half, but the All-Stars were down by four (32-28) when the half ended. The All-Stars shooting percentage was 60% from the field (12 of 20) while the Cobras only shot 37.1% (13 of 35). The difference in the score resulted from the Cobras shooting 50% from behind the three-point line sinking (4 of 8).
The All-Stars began the second half hoping to capitalize on their strong shooting first half but were denied the opportunity by shooting a dismal 14.7% only hitting (5 of 34). On the reverse side, Coker shot 61.5%, hitting (16 of 26).
Olivia Freda and Melissa Ballard led the All-Stars with ten points each while Coker’s Shamae Hemingway led both teams with 17 points.
The All-Stars host Montreat College Tuesday night in Weisiger Center at 7:00PM.
